Shepherd Parkway Community Clean-Up
Saturday, February 9, 2019
10:30 am to 1 pm
Meet at the benches across Malcolm X Avenue from 555 Newcomb Street SE

Our eight-year run of monthly Shepherd Parkway Community Clean-Ups will continue every second Saturday throughout 2019.  Thanks to all our hard work the woods are looking better than they have in years, but there is always more to do.  Your presence will make a concrete, measurable difference.

Join us this Saturday and mark you calendars for the same time and place on:
  • Saturday, March 9
  • Saturday, April 13
  • Saturday, May 11
  • Saturday, June 8
  • Saturday, July 13

Gloves, bags, water will be provided. All volunteers should wear boots, full-length plants, and clothes they will not mind getting dirty.

RSVPs are not necessary until you are bringing a group of ten or more. If so, please contact Nathan at nbharrington@yahoo.com at least a week in advance.

School, church, and office groups are welcome, and documentation of community service hours will be gladly provided upon request.

Can't make it to the clean-up this Saturday but still want to help the cause of environmental justice in Ward 8?

Please consider making contribution to Ward 8 Woods.

We are more than half way to our goal of $1,500, which will allow our crew of Park Stewards to work six additional days this winter.

Each work day we average 2,000 pounds of trash removed.

Every dollar goes directly the Stewards to help them support their families.
